Sara Ribakove, 2013
After graduating from the University of Rochester in 2014, Sara moved to Washington, DC, where she currently works in the Nutrition Policy Department at the Center for Science in the Public Interest. In accordance with the mission of the Trey Whitfield Foundation, Sara has dedicated her time to equity through multiple channels, including her work to improve access to nutritious meals in all schools and reduce targeted unhealthy food marketing to vulnerable groups.
She also volunteers with the DC Produce Plus program, which helps DC residents in need access fresh and local fruits and vegetables at farmersí markets. Prior to working at CSPI, Sara worked at the Food Recovery Network as a New Chapter Coordinator, where she helped unite students on college campuses to fight food waste and hunger by recovering and donating perishable food that would otherwise go to waste.
