Kristin Lauren Wills, 2008
I was accepted to North Carolina Central University School of Law and started my journey in August 2014. I moved to Durham, N.C. holding onto my Faith in God and that I was just a glimpse away from my dream. During my Road to Justice, there were many, many Champions that I cannot even name them all and some who I do not knowÖ however, I would like to thank God for giving me the desires of my heart, my parents, Matthew & Angie Wills, my sister Cierra, and my grandmother Madeline Barnhill (GiGi) for their love and support. I would also like to thank Janie Whitney & AB Whitfield with the Trey Whitfield Foundation for believing in me and my dream and planting the Seed of Hope. Finally, I would also like to thank Ms. Barbara Jean Lee for being my #1 Champion and for advancing my Dream of becoming an Attorney at age 24. On May 13, 2017, I graduated with my Juris Doctor and will take the North Carolina Bar in July, 2017. Please continue to keep me in prayer. I am truly honored to have been a recipient of the Trey Whitfield Foundation Scholarship. Today, I become the Champion for many Youth who aspire to follow their Dream and the 2017 recipients of the Trey Whitfield Foundation Scholarship. I encourage you to never let the Dream die Ö keep it alive in your heart no matter how difficult it may seem. The reward is in Journey and not the Destination.
